I went home to visit my folks this weekend; my dad and I went fishing this weekend and took along a cooler full of Coronas. That's about as exciting as my weekends have gotten for a while - I haven't been out actually "drinking" since St. Patties Day.

Fishing with a couple of beers is not a bad way to spend a weekend. I have not had a nice, relaxing weekend in a lot time now. Even after my heart surgery, I was up and about that weekend.

Heart surgery huh? Be careful Andrew. Bad diet? Hereditary?

Anyway, picked up a 12-pack of Bohemia on Friday. Enjoying it!

As for heart surgeries, mine was pretty minor. I was born with my issue, it just did not start becoming an issue until recently. Everything went well and I am doing just fine. Have not had anything really to drink though since the surgery. Don't want to temp faith.

This weekend, my weekend starts today at 3pm, we have a case of Saranac IPA, and for the rest of the week a case the standby, Werstiener in cans. The occasional rum and coke mixed in there. Andrew, get some grain alcohol, may help with the cold (of course in moderation).

I never thought that drinking would help with a cold. Can you explain more?

Now that I have received the green light from my doctor, I am open to try something new.

Strong alcohol definitely clears your sinuses right on out  When we were little and had colds, my grandpa would try to give us whiskey and my mom would scream at him every time.

I guess it makes sense. I bet that is why there is so much (or used to be) alcohol in nightquil.
