Is a 98 v70 glt and 99 v70 glt interchangeable?

I have a 1999 V70 GLT and have a 1998 spare-parts car.. Im just wondering if the parts are interchangable. Ant help?

Mechanically/electrically, they're very different. Body parts, interior parts - sure.

Most things under the hood are different. A lot of electrical parts, etc were changed between the 98 and 99 model years.

So, it depends. What parts did you have in mind?

Im honestly not 100% sure yet. I keep getting a turbo charger senso a circut low call on my OBDII and a speed sensor? Im not even sure if my car has one, I read it goes through the abs module which i just replaced... We have 4 1999 volvo's that we had a base V70 that we used for parts but since mine is a turbo, the parts just dont match.. And i found this 98 glt exact same everything of my car cosmeticly.. But different years.. I heard that the early models of 98 are different, but the later models built in 98 were the same as 99... is that much true?

engine no, trans yes with two sensors swapped, abs no, srs no, instrument cluster no, power seat no, engine and trans computers no.
Most everything else is interchangeable but that takes a lot of good stuff off the list.

would the turbo charger fall into the category of engine and not fitting?

The turbo can be made to fit - it just has a different flange. But I doubt the actual turbo itself is a problem here. The sensors are probably different. Abs modules and speed sensors are also different. Hard to believe they changed so much isn't it?

well you can see why being the first generation, they had to fix the kinks and all, its just really hard to find junk cars that have your parts, let alone a whole car that someone is selling.. there seems to be alot of 98's people are selling that dont run, but they think are worth about $1,000... I dont see many 99's, maybe it was a good thing they changed so much haha

ummmm no....

I would never buy a 99-03 Volvo I have two 98's and a 04 and maybe soon to be a 2012. personally the problems that the 99-03s have are just balhhhhh
