Is Seafoam Trans Tune safe before professional flush?

Is using Seafoam Trans Tune prior to taking my V70 to a mechanic safe? Which is better Trans Tune or Amsoil? Thanks

how many miles? has the tranny fluid ever been changed?

118K, it was changed about 5k ago at the dealer I bought it from last month for what looks like the 2nd time from the service history on the Carfax. On the service report the mechanic noted it was very dark prior to be changed and was shifting erractically. The fluid is red, but has thin blackness through it on the dipstick. It shifts ok, but I'd rather spend the money and be safe than sorry to get another 118k miles out of it. I ran Amsoil through the engine about 500 miles ago prior to an oil change and it removed so much sludge it really surprised me. The top end of the engine is much cleaner.

Don't use an additive, just flush or drain and fill

IMHO, I would drain the case only again, (how did the Dealer do it? , machine flushed? ) I have no problem with additives, tats up to you. I flushed mine at 90K using the method fromthis site. I used mobil 3309, presently I have 13K on the 3309, I will do the case only soon.. make sure the update was done..
