99 V70XC Left Axle Question

Post by Volvoagain »

Noticed a clicking from the front wheel when i rolled into the garage. It seems to increase with speed. Took it down the road and noticed clicking when i take my foot off thegas, but seems to go away under acceleration?
CV failing?
I recall earlier this week an odd slipping feeling when i pulled out of the driveway....sort of like the wheels breaking loose....

Just had this same symptom which I thought was going to be CV joint due to a torn boot which I failed to repair but upon removal of tire I discovered bearing assy had broken. Might want to pull the tire off and inspect as soon as possible. Could be that it is the CV joint but give that bearing assy a good looking over.

Lifted the car up this morning....Everything appears solid....No wheel movement, axle boot looks good, no play...
I'm going to put it on the lift in the morning and take a harder look. I have an axle just in case, cant hurt...
I did notice that both Strut mounts are done....might as well rip it apart and replace them as well.
