O2 Sensor Non-Fouler trick?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

O2 Sensor Non-Fouler trick?

Post by bronson1111 »

I have a 2002 Volvo S80 T6 and my CEL is on. The codes are PO422 and PO420; main catalyst efficiency below threshold and another catalytic problem. I passed emissions three months ago so I am not required to get my CAT fixed. I don't have the money right now. I heard there was a way to get rid of the CEL by installing non-foulers to the O2 sensor. Does this work? If so, which O2 sensor do I install it on? I hope this is an option!

Thank you,
Bronson

no, that is a fix for a particular model and year range (not any S80 or any P2 model for that matter) where oil travels through the wiring and kills oxygen sensors repeatedly.
If you have no funds for repairs and the car runs fine then ignore light and don't waste any money on band-aids. OR put a band-aid over the light.
