Best shop manuals for 850 turbo wagon

Can someone advise me on the best shop manuals to purchase? I'm a good mechanic on older cars and want to start doing more work on my 850.
I've looked at alldata, but didn't want to move a computer into the garage.
I've also looked at datamanuals and factory manuals.

I appreciate your help.

Personally, I think the very best manual is Volvo's own, called VADIS. It is computer based though and can be quite pricey. After that, a distant second would be the Haynes manual. It is not nearly as detailed, but it should give you enough info to get most jobs done. I wouldn't even consider the Chilton's; it's a joke.

On a side note, I love the sound and smell of a high compression V8 running on race fuel too

I looked into the VIDAS system today and for the price I think ALLDATA is a better buy. I still have to move a computer to the garage but I guess that is the times. Have a look a ALLDATA and give me your opinion. Anyone else is welcome to jump in also. ALLDATA seems to have more fault and diagnostic features.

AlldataDIY is good and seems to pull a lot of info from VADIS but I think VADIS will have better part number information/ diagrams which is critical

I use alldatadiy and have found most everything I needed accept a diagram of the ECU pin out. Sean got that for me, Kudos to Sean. They have the text functions for the pins but no diagram. I have had it for sometime but I will have to look at VIDAS. I don't like the search in alldata it is worthless. I have a laptop and wireless, yes it is a must. Good luck Mark

If not already mentioned...Haynes manual and these boards (this one and Brickboard) have been my best friends.

So far I like ALLDATA, except like Mark said the search function is junk.
VIDAS is great but expensive. I got a cd on ebay but it hasn't arrived yet.
This board has been a fantastic help for me, Matthew is doing a great service and all the people who share their knowledge. This is my first turbo and I'm impressed! Even moved one of my Cuda's over one bay to work on the 850.

Thanks guys for all your help, I'm having a blast with the 850.

CD arrived from ebay. It is a Mitchell clone, not bad but not great either.
Lot of info but I still like alldatadiy best so far. Hoping to find a VIDAS clone online.
