Hi,
I have ongoing issues with my 850 wagon.
2.0 litre 20 valve auto built in belguim lived in Singapore until I got it in 2003.
Run 98RON Petrol.
Have replaced...
RMS, TPS, O2 sensor, rotor, cap and leads, coil, fuel pump, fuel filter, cambelt, water pump.
Have cleaned the MAF sensor, and had ABS unit refurbished in the US.
Newly built mandrel bent exhaust.
At the moment the vehicle fails to start.
turns over, attempts to fire, partially catches and then backfires and misses.
Running like a bag of ragged ar**holes, well not actually.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob/.
starting issue misfire and timing.

Double check the position of the ignition wires on the distributor cap since you changed those pieces. The Haynes manual is dead wrong as is the factory Volvo manual. The Haynes is one lead off and the Volvo manual has the rotation backwards.
Here is how it should be:

Lee,
Just gone Midnight here, snuck outside, checked leads and sure enough, 1 and 2 swapped.
Started and idled, may be a little rough, will run it up and go for a blat in the morning.
Thanks so much.
