OK, the pressostat (looks like item 11 in the diagram below) is also 30645383. I can't quite tell what you're pointing at in that photo, so I'm hoping that's what you're asking for. If not, let me know the #. Item # 18 is the coupling that plugs into your vacuum pump, the pump, bracket and aspirator are on a different page.

Ok, then I guess I just need item #18. I haven't been able to try the existing coupling off of my old pump. I figured I have to get a new one.

Also, what about the check valve, what item is that on this diagram?

Coupling is 30681669. The little hose that connects from it to the pressostat is 30645385 (if your chassis number is lower than or equal to 167356), or 30681670 (if higher than that)--I give you that part # since the hose might disintegrate. I believe that the check valve is 3b (it's listed as "L-Connection"), and that's 9473812; if you replace it, replace 29, "sealing" part 30769204 as well.

Ah, no wonder...that's termed a "module" (through 2005) or a "switch" (2006) in VIDA; and since it switches the vacuum pump on and off, that's all I thought it did.

I noticed recently that when I'm not pushing the break pedal, it sounds like air is leaking.. Is this what you where referring to with the whistle?

no, when i open the hood, the vacuum pump is running none stop, the sound is from the pump sucking air, also the vac pump is hot like hell.

i checked out the booster by disconnecting the tube from the check valve, vac pump did not stop...i guess the booster is fine, also, i put my hand on the port the booster tube goes, i felt it is sucking air...good sign the vac pump still working...got a multi-meter, did a continuity test across 2 contacts on the check valve(car off), it was shorted, seems like the check valve stuck closed. i will pick up a new check valve tomorrow...

Interesting, I noticed that the #11 module in my car was being held on by a twisty tie as a piece of the plastic on the existing module was broken off. As I adjusted it, the spring flew off. I then put it back together with another twisty tie.

Before I was getting a variable buzz shutting on and off ever few seconds. Now, like luckyfan, my pump is now running continuously. If i remove the spring, it stops running. Do I really need the spring?
