I was told by former owner of the car that the throttle body was changed and reprogrammed at the dealer. He didnt do it but the guy who sold the car to me for him had it done. so its suposedly done. I just dont have paperwork on it.
how can I find that out? I am sure it can be hooked up to something and this would be displayed. is there a way to find out with just the vin# if I call the dealer?
I didnt know anything about this until I had already bought the car. the car runs like a top btw
can I find out if dealer changed the ETM and when ?

call your local dealer with your VIN available and ask for the service department and tell them you would like to know if the ETM has been changed or what ETM services have been done.
I had a really long & productive conversation with a rep at Volvo USA yesterday regarding my soon-to-expire 10 year/200k ETM warranty. He had all those details. I just called the 800 number on the Volvo web site. Guy was really helpful and honest, gave me good advice on how to interact with my dealer, and told me to call him back if I had any trouble so he could call the service manager at the dealer and "remind him what his job is". Pretty cool.
Also, you can just peek in your engine compartment & see the front of the ETM behind your radiator. The original factory part will have a white label on it, and if it was ever replaced it will have a yellow label on it.
