Mass Air Flow Sensor replacement blues getting you down?

Post by PCars »

Give that Bosche piece of junk a new job.....Bottle Opener. At $150 to $300, it's painful just to throw it away. Get just a little bit more use out of it. Grab some tamper proof torx bits and pull the sensor portion out of the housing. The notches where the connector attaches make it a great bottle opener for the garage. Cheers! :)

Doesn't Bosch make the OE MAF? If not, who does? And what do we get on the web for $31-60? (As recently posted?)

Yea thats a Bosch engine management system (Motronic). Most european cars had/have them. I bought a reman MAF from Autozone and took it back. It did not say Bosch on it and was very dissimilar from the original. I ended up paying full price for a new one. I unfortunately broke the original trying to clean it during the diagnostic process.

I'm sorry if I confused anyone. It was meant as a joke. I assumed that when you replace the MAF due to malfunction, the one you take out would probably be the original Bosch sensor. After replacing it, sometimes you'd be left with it if they don't do a core exchange. So now you have this expensive sensor sitting around for you to throw away. Mine became a bottle opener. It's actually better than a lot of other bottle openers I have too. It's just a humorous way of justifying the outrageous price of the new sensor. :D
