2003 S40 Hesitation from park to drive?

During hot days my 03 S40 after setting in park for a few minutes at normal running temps will hesitate for a couple of seconds before going into drive or any forward gear. It goes into reverse perfect every time, after taking drive it will sometimes hesitate going to second. It doesn't do this on a cool day or night.
