Oil change and Wheel squeal and PO172

Post by youngin9494 »

So I've been planning to do a oil change on my 2000 s70 and I have noticed some irregularites with the oil filters listed on different web sites. Is the oil filter on the s70 a canister one piece screw on or is it just the filter material that is in a volvo case? Just from looking under my car I wasnt able to tell. Also is it possible to interchange the two? (just our of curiosity)

Also recently since the weather has been pretty warm, 90s and up, I have noticed the wheels or brakes squealing on the drivers side. This is happens especially on turns. It is not all the time as well. But the second I tap the brakes it goes away and usually come back. Any ideas what that could be? The front driver side wheel also seems to have a lot of brake dust or residue compared to the other wheels.

Lastly the check engine light has been coming on and off for a while and each time it does it says PO172 "Bank 1 too Rich" Ive looked on the site and saw that most people say its a vacuum hose and that its no big deal especially if it comes and goes. But thats not too reassuring.

Any ideas on any of the problems? Thanks in advance
