2002 V70 Driver's Seat Return Memory

Post by eliotgobler »

I've been fighting with this for years; the owner's manual is insufficient. Apparently, there's a sequence of events (i.e., moving seat backward, switching ignition, unlocking door, opening door, removing key, etc.) that MUST be performed in a specific sequence for the "automatic seat position return" to work when the car is unlocked. Once in a while I get lucky. Does anyone actually know what the sequence is?

if nobody but you drives the car, and you always use the same keyfob, then the seat will not move at all. It will stay in the same position as you last left it.

Yep, it's the key-fob that's the key. It remembers which key was used to lock it (remotely), and returns to the settings for that key when that key is used to unlock it (remotely). My wife and I were inadvertently swapping key-fobs and had a bit of a time figuring out why it would "randomly" go to one or the other's settings.....

Are you expecting the seat to move back for exit ease and return back to preset using the same remote?
If so, it does not have that feature.
