Where to start? 2002 S80 no start

My daughter was having trouble with her 2002 S80 2.9 stalling last year. The ETM was checked and cleaned (Bosch type) and the dealer cleaned the VVT solenoid which solved the problem. Recently, it started stalling again and I decided to try cleaning the solenoid myself. At the same time, I removed the ETM and cleaned it again and cleaned the MAS with carb cleaner. I somehow got distracted when I put everything back together and forgot to plug in both the VVT solenoid and the MAF sensor. The car started and ran fine and didn't stall driving it around the block, so I went and got gas and to the post office about 2 miles away, and the car stalled on the way home. I ended up getting towed 1/2 mile home and discovered that the VVT and MAS connectors were unplugged - checking the work I had just done. I don't understand how the car could have run for a few miles with the MAS plug not connected, but now the car will not start at all. It started a couple of times and ran for a few seconds, but now just cranks. I also don't hear the fuel pump cycle when I turn the key, but there is fuel pressure at the rail (not sure how much yet) Seems like it could be the MAS, or fuel pump (maybe the original problem - solenoid checks ok) I hate to just throw money at it. Any ideas where to start? Thanks!
