1999 Volvo S80 T6
I have been losing coolant slowly and decided to replace all the coolant lines and flush the system. I removed the thermostat and drained the system, added a radiator flush, and after idling engine for required time I used straight water to flush everything clear. I then let everything sit overnight with the radiator hoses off. Next day I put the new hoses on and as Im still waiting for thermostat to get here I refilled with pure water and took it for a test drive. It barely runs now. at WOT it never climbs over 3000 rpm and sputters every few seconds on the way there. If I accelerate VERY slowly it will reach 60 mph as long as not on a hill. Before I did the flush I noticed that if I drove around for a little while and parked, when I started back up and pulled out it was very sluggish for about quarter to a half mile and then pulled great after that. Someone suggested that was caused by water leaking in the pistons when I parked but I pulled all the plugs the other day and all bone dry after sitting. another person said that the turbos being water cooled they could be leaking water into the turbo and the flush damaged something. I am now getting a p0137 and p0157 which is o2 sensor 2 on banks 1 and 2 but no codes before flush. Could the flush have somehow messed up the 02 or turbo and would it cause this problem. Please help before I put a few gallons extra in the tank and light a match. Driving me crazy.

Are you running it without the stat fitted? if so the ECU might have put the car in limp mode, when my stat jammed open (si,ilar to not fitting one) the engine was down on power and it never got to the correct engine temperature - Get the stat fitted and see what it does - Mike
I am running it without the stat but did for about 30 miles before I did the flush too. And was fine then. And problem happens from the moment it is started. and averaging close to a hundred degrees every day here so even without the stat it is reaching normal operating temp.
