S70 PO442 Code
My 98 S70 T5-M has a P0442 Code (Evap Small Leak): I should change the gas cap (new), and replace the J-hose on the evap canister on the rear (near the fuel filter). What is the part number for this J-hose anyone. I know this is a process of elimination...before I start pouring $$$ into purge valves and purge check-out valve. Thanks to all.

Is your canister mounted at the rear of the car or the front?

Hey Blackburn!
Its mounted slight in front on the rear (right) passenger side near the fuel filter. It does have some residue all over the hose. Also, what size clamps do I need with the J-hose? Thanks.

The number listed for the clamps is '988024'.
Honestly? Just pick up some adjustable screw clamps from an auto parts store. They'll do the job just fine - I use them for just about everything.

I have had the PO442 code for the longest time. I was finally able to clear the code when I had my catalytic converter welded shut. The exhaust system can throw this code.....makes sense too. The rear hanger had rusted off, causing stress on the exhaust pipe at the back edge of the catalytic converter. Went to the local muffler man shop, had new bracket put back on,and the cat welded back together. Cleared the code with OBDll , and code has not come back on !
No need for a new j hose or gas cap.

Hey BifFinn;
I changed the j-hoses. I do see a few black spots on the exhaust system. Will go Midas and see what they can do for me. Thanks for you help....never thought about the exhaust.
