XC-V70 Timing Belt 2007

Post by dryan88 »

My manual indicates that my timing belt should be replaced at 120K miles. My mechanic says that I should get it done around 60K, just in case. Your opinion? Thanks

I don't agree with your mechanic. I'd get it changed at 120k miles.

Your mechanic is 110% wrong (and an idiot)
The newer booklets say 120K
Personally I would not wait that long
7 years or 105K miles. Many owners prefer to do them at around 90K as this is nothing you want to mess around with and have $3000 worth of damage!
Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP
