Cabin filter airflow direction?

A mid-size luxury crossover SUV, the Volvo XC90 made its debut in 2002 at the Detroit Motor Show. Recognized for its safety, practicality, and comfort, the XC90 is a popular vehicle around the world. Cabin filter airflow direction?

Does anyone have any clarification as to which direction the arrows should point on the new cabin filter? I can't find anything stating whether they should point atthe engine or at the cabin/seats. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

point to engine. the air goes forward through the filter as viewed from inside vehicle.
