Will a 2001 S40 1.9T T work in a 2003 S40 1.9T

My brothers 2003 S40 1.9 Turbo is blowing blue to white smoke again... The previous owner neglected to change the oil as scheduled and this has resulted in sludge build up. The Turbo was replaced last year as was the entire "pcv" system... but the engine has enough pressure to blow off the oil cap when loosened and start burning oil within a minute of being run. My thoughts are its time to just swap in another engine.....

The local salvage yard has a 2001 S40 1.9T. It was wrecked, and has as good engine. I can grab this for less than $300 pulled with the turbo. My question is, will it directly swap with the 2003?

I did some searching across a few forums, but I could not find a straight answer. I know with my 1998 V70 Wagon I was stuck with finding a 1998 engine.
