"Elec Power System Service Required"--anyone get this? help?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

"Elec Power System Service Required"--anyone get this? help?

Post by grensuvs »

Hello Everyone,

Get this message mostly on start-up, after the ABS module and the CEM have been replaced. Got plenty of messages before, started with "Brake failure" message recounted in other topics. Battery is 1 yr. old. Alternator has been checked multiple times, supposedly, by several garages. Mechanics say there would be other messages if something wrong with the voltage regulator (I don't know if that means they actually checked it or not; I think "checking it" means that they have observed that there are no codes relating to it, so they conclude that it's working fine (?)).

Codes are: CCM-001B, Lower switch ID missing; CEM-1C02, L-signal too low; and DEM-5B01, Left heater pad, faulty signal.

Any insight or help out there?
