Car stalling randomly

Hi there,

I have a 1999 V70 and the car randomly stalls out when I slow down. I stop and it always starts right back up. It also stalls sometimes when I a turning sharply, like when I am turning into a parking space.

Any ideas?

My '97 855 GLT behaved this way and it turned out to be a bad electrical connection on the positive terminal of the battery. I also found the B+ cable at the alternator was loose. I cleaned everything up and tightened the cables at the alternator, started and battery, as well as the ground strap near the battery, and all worked well again.

Yeah - it sounds like either some electrical bug or something with a sensor (MAF perhaps)?

Is your check engine or ETS light on?

Possible ETM issue with a '99. How many miles on the vehicle? Has it been changed? Check Dons ETM Room on this site.

This started happening on my 1999 V70 the day before we replaced the ETM, which seems to have taken care of it. It could also be something far less drastic, but that's what it was (probably) related to on mine. I throw the 'probably' in there because we just replaced the ETM this past Friday night.
