I talked to the Volvo ETM Rebate center in Memphis this morning. She said 40,000 letters have been sent but she also said you do not need to wait for the letter. Go ahead and send in the following letter and your repair order. You can find a copy of the letter here.
Send in you ETM replacement costs, include cleaning, towing, and anything else what was replaced before they got to the ETM. Just assume they are going to do the right thing.
In addition, send me your name, city, state, model year, series. This will add to the data base so I can contact you as things happen in the future. Send to [email protected]

Oh, I read it .... and in fact have mentioned it on another Volvo site weeks ago.JRL wrote:I received my CHECK if you bothered to read my reply 2 weeks ago.
Just make sure you send in a copy of your paid receipt with the letter

It's just that ONLY 2 of you have indicated receiving "The letter" and "The rebate". Volvo claims they have been mailing these out since the middle of DECEMBER, and ONLY 2 PEOPLE have confirmed same. Forgive me, but 2 out of 400,00 doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling about their sincerity.
My statement was the punchline to a very old joke. Hell, I even used a laughing smilie and it got past you. Speaking of old jokes, how about the way Volvo has been lying and deceiving and blaming us for a problem they knew about back in 1998?
How about the "Legendary Safety" one? That one still cracks me up.
