Failed Acceleration, 2001 XC70

Okay, not sure if anyone is following this thread, but wanted to update it for any future online garage grease monkeys that may have a similar issue.

The problem was the ETM. Essentially, it was going offline because due to what I suspect, was a short in the wire loom.

I had replaced the ETM in early July with a xeMODex unit. The problem started in late July. I then went through just about every other possibility, on the assumption that the ETM was probably the ONLY part in the engine that was functional, due to the fact that it was new. I finally took it to the dealer (see above) and they were able to pull some DTC throttle codes that were not picked up by a generic reader. That service cost me $62. I was initially pissed, still believing that the ETM was fine. Ithought the dealer was trying to sell me a Volvo ETM to get the car back to stock before they did anything else (they asked for $1300). Rather than let them install a new craptastic volvo ETM, I contacted xeMODex. They shipped me another ETM overnight, and the new one currently works beautifully. My fingers crossed hoping the first xeMODex ETM was just a fluke, and my engine/ECM is not going to fry this current ETM as well.
