1997 850 wont start

Car ran then wouldnt start (very hot weather) Next day car started, drove home. Hasn't started since. Engine turns. No spark at coil. Coil is ok. crank shaft sensor ok. fuel ok. Could it be associated to the anti-theft alarm system?

Do you have a check engine light? Check for any codes. A bad cam sensor can shut you down

On US-spec cars, the alarm system completely deactivates the starting circuit. No starter, no nothing.

If you have no spark, I, too, would be looking at the camshaft sensor. This is one of those things that you might want to find in the junkyard before purchasing a new one just to swap in to try out.

The camshaft sensor (as well as the crank shaft sensor) was replaced and that took care of the problem.
Thank you for your help.
By the way the 850 has 140K miles
