Wow that third sentence was a tough read! :D

You are stating that if the newly acquired DIM is high then I"m stuck with that value as it will over right my existing CEM?

Seems I've read a handful of posts from those stating they took it to the dealer/indie to have the the mileage altered on the new DIM. Since it cannot be altered by VIDA then what were they doing at the shop? Since the DIMs are unique by year(s) then they cannot program an incompatible DIM to work in their car...what were they programing?

all great info...
There are many vendors selling these Dice units. I'm just recommending researching sellers and then see you will support you if the item fails.

True but I also noted that the best prices were coming from China too and the same city as the online ones! But I guess the rating helps ease any concerns.

the ebay resellers are selling you the same chinese knock offs, so bypass the middleman and go to aliexpress.com or dhgate.com.

If you have a 2003 S60 2.4T will the Vida/Dice units sold today operate on connect to it correctly? Even if I understand these prior postings correctly, that prior to 2005 Volvos were operating with Vadis with the VCT/2000 communication tool.

I have VIDA2010D software but no DICE yet.

I have been playing around in VIDA and is amazing the amount of stuff in there. One just needs the tool (Dice) to communicate with the car's ECM and turn on/off features, erase codes including SRS lights and other things.

VIDA/DICE combo will work on any OBD II compliant volvo cars 1996 to 2010 :)

I too am running 2010D, and am interested in getting a DICE... I have a T5R and my brother has a 98 C70, Can I have full access to controls and diagnostics? I am seeing people listing 1996, but my 1995 has the OBD II.

And the limitations are just going to be software downloads?

I do not NEED Bluetooth, I would be fine with USB, can I just find a J2354 Compliant cable? or does it have to be J2354-2, even for older cars?

The 98 is having weird sporadic misfires of different cylinders and my brother has since abandoned the mechanic he was using after the second replacement of MAF...

My T5R is now throwing a P0302 I believe, MAF High Voltage

This has prompted me getting a copy of ViDA, and peeking through but if I cannot get full access to my ECU, then I cannot justify the cost of purchasing the cable...

Is there anywhere where we can see what features and such are available for what years? ie, before 99 can only read codes, after can play with light dimming and chime sounds etc...

I purchased a Dice via EBay from China. It comes with ViDA as well! When I got it I sold my other scanner in which it paid for the ViDA. Well worth the purchase if your a DIY.
