Shrinking front inner fender well
Shrinking front inner fender well
Hello.....I have a 2008 v70 and the front inner fender well, especially on the drivers side had shrunk to the point where the clips keep popping off the inner lip of the fender and leaving a large gap between the fender and inner fender well. I've tried loosening the screws on the inner plastic fender well to reposition the inner fender well in hopes of making it fit better....but no luck.....has anyone seen/heard a similiar problem?? At this point aside from buying a new inner fender well, I'm not sure what to try next.....any suggestions are appreciated

Take it to them and have them fix it, lot of them like that or not, they should still take care of it under warranty.

I'd tell the service advisor that it is defect in materials or workmanship and could lead to corrosion if the sand and gravel thrown up by wheels gets up into fender area and abrades paint and corrosion protection. It flies in the face of Volvo's core values of durability and quality and longevity. When he tries to sell you injector cleaner and nitrogen for your tires tell him not doing that won't hurt anything (but his commission).
TO jimmy 57....I did exactly what you said, verbatim. I live about 70 miles from the dealership and they wanted me to drive the car home w/o the inner fender well....I'm thinking...are you nuts and said, it would make just as much sense to leave the car and drive the inner fender well home, They're ordering me another inner fender well at no cost......but....wait for it....lol they're shipping it directly to me......to save me the cost of driving another 140 mile round trip, according to the service advisor....fine with me as I would put it in my self any way. I am curious if any one else has seen similiar problem. thanks for the sage advise
