Volvo Struts

Post by SAM2 »

I noticed my passenger side strut had leaked. I've since started looking at replacement struts, initially bilsteins & koni but then noticed the Volvo oem struts are pretty reasonable, way cheaper then the bilsteins. So I'm now thinking of going with the oem strut, but I noticed that there seem to be 3 different types of strut : comfort, dynamic, sport. These struts seem to have numbers associated with them, I'm not sure where these come from.
Im hoping someone knows what the associated numbers are and how I can tell what types of strut I have installed from factory? Also looking for advice: I was initially going w/ bilsteins until i found they are $100 more per then oem. I'm not modifying anything on the car just looking for best bang for the buck/ would like to not have to deal with these again. Are the bilsteins worth the $ ?

The struts on most US models will be comfort. T5 with sport suspension and wheel package would be sport.
