HELP with C 70 Antenna suggestions please...new poster

Post by nic walker »

Hi folks,

Girlfriend caught her antenna in the garage door  .

Dealer wants 400.00 for a replacement. I found one on the net for 70.00 from "Auto Etcetera" their part # MET-44-PW64. Does anyone know if this wills uffice or is it junk?

Also, I have replaced antenna tapes and masts on my Reattas and other vehicles before...is the S70 a mediocre level type job that I would be able to do myself? I really am trying to help as she is in need...not just trying to gain points :) . Any help would be appreciated...

It's a piece of cake. Don't go to the dealer. Order one from FCPgroton like I did. It was a bit more than $100 CDN and it took 1/2 hour to install. I ordered a complete unit as the motor in my 99 S70 quit but I think you can order just the mast.

Thanks for the reply but this is a C70 CONVERTIBLE....not a S70. I called Groton (your referenced site)and they said theirs would not work. I called the place on the internet I had found (the 69.99 generic part) and they said theirs would, but I want to be safe ....I was wondering if anyone on the forum has tried the 69.99 one I have referenced please?

Please help.....

Thanks,

Nic

You can get the genuine Volvo part from myswedishparts.com for $140 which also includes shipping. For the extra $40 bucks, I'd get the real deal. You can also order just the antenna mast from them as well.
