Car will not restart after it has been running previously???

Post by 850Gas »

This morning I went out to the car and started it to warm it up before leaving. I was backing out of the driveway and then I put the car in D and I felt adn heard a loud clunk and the car went into limp mode(flashing arrow in dash). Drove car back into drive way and parked. Turn car off and let it sit, came back and the car will not start now? Is this a possible relay, starter, transmission issue? What do you guys think?
thanks

Need more information. What year/model is your car. After the clunk this morning when the transmission went into limp mode, how was the engine running. Was it idling rough?? When you say it won't start; does the starter turn the engine over or does the starter just click.

After I parked the car and turned it off. During the restart the engine does not turn over, it does nothing. Dash lights are all working. The car is not in limp mode anymore it it fine. But when it runs for a while and is then turned off, the car will not start back up. Relay, starter, ????? Sorry about not giving more info

Someone over on the volvospeed.com forum took his PNP switch apart and cleaned it as well as all of the contacts and had good success rather than a replacement. You might want to check over there in the maintenance section of the message board. Good luck.

P.S. Here, I found the link: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.ph ... =45221&hl=
