Thanks for the advice! Had the oil changed and went with the synthetic 5-w40 and they wanted me to upgrade the oil filter, since I was using synthetic oil, for an added $13! What is a oil filter upgrade!?! They quoted $149 for a tranny fluid change. Any idea what I should ecpect to pay ?

I would budget at least $500 to have it done right. Not saying that it can not be done right for less. Also you should strongly consider doing simple things on your car i.e. oil changes and belts yourself. I have seen too many cars come back from a lube shop with the oil plug crossed and threads stripped out of the pan.

^This

On my moms S60, we had to cut the oil drain plug and drill it out becuase it was on there so tight from when she went to the garage to get the oil changed cuz we weren't home. Keep in mind, I'm not talking about "I put a wrench on the plug and it wouldn't turn" stuck. I'm talking about it not turning after we used heat, PB blaster, impact driver, hammer drill, cheater bar, etc. We ended up tearing the plug a bit and then decided to just cut/grind it the rest of the way. The F'ers musta used an impact gun when putting the plug on and buried it into the oil pan.

Moral of the story: Do your own work. No one but me touches my car.

Jiffy Lube will use a flush machine, which is bad for internals.

I hope they use the right fluid. Did they charge you for a filter? There is no trans filter you can change out, something sounds a little fishy. You are talking trans fluid right?
