p0133 (o2ckt slow response, bank1 sensor1)
so this p0133 codeis the last code that i am trying to cure on my 98 v70. i replaced the front sensor with a new oem bosch unit and i am still getting this code. disconnected the battery oernight and hava since reset the code a few times. one of those times i got code p0140 (sensor #2 n signal) but donot get that code regularly....only the 133code. i dont want to replace the rear o2 sensor and just throw $$$ at the problem. i dont have any exhaust leaks before (or after for that mater)the cat converter. dose code 133 have anything at all to do with the rear o2 sensor or the relationship between the two? any other ideas
repaced the rear o2 sesor today. so now i have replaced both the front and rear o2 sensors with new oem bosch units. i reset the check engine light and i am still getting code 133 after driving the car for the rest of the day.........any help?
what is the propper way to terminate the puple vac hose that used to run to my sas valve.....at least i think thats where it used to go. i got the car and there was a screw blocking off the elbow at the end of the purple line that ran from the unit on the fan shroud to behind the engine where it just hung there with a screw "blocking it off". the previos owner had elminated the sas valve as far as i can tell. i have since taken the computer out and soldered the rect diode in there to prevent the code 410. now im wondering if i need to do something with the vac lines,this purple one in particular. i am trying to attach a picture of the unit the purple was conneted to near the fan shroud. its the nipple facing up on the rusty unit at the bottom of the pic. do i need to cap this off or leave it open since the sas valve is gone? would this give me a code 133?.....any other ideas on vac lines/anything i might be overlooking?

On a '98, the rear sensor should have nothing to do with that code.
Cap that line off on the SAS valve. Even a rubber band and some plastic wrap will work. How is the vacuum line for the PCV system that goes to the left side of the intake manifold and into the side of the throttle body?

dont have a sas valve to cap off. the p/o removed it as far as i can tell. caped off the tree where the solenoid ( on fan shroud) was connected and also disconnected the pump under the battery tray. i resisted the urge to punt it across the yard. maybe someone else needs it........

For the 133 code follow the harness up and clean both connectors. As I recall there is a sensor to intermediate hrness and intermediate harness to main engine wiring harness. Poor continuity in one of those connectors, probably the upper one could cause your issue.

so i am still getting code 0133 and beside myself as to why. i have followed the harness from the front O2 sensor but my car (98 v70 non turbo) dosnt have the intermediate harness you are talking about. i visited the volvo dealer and the one they sell does have the extra 8 inches of wire/connectors to go between the sensor and wire harness on car......i cant immagine this is necessary since the car was sold with the sensor i have replaced mine with and without the 8 inch add-on. now i have a new OEM bosch front O2 sensor, new OEM bosch rear sensor, new exhaust manifold/header (obx) , and no exhaust leaks before front sensor. what else could possibly be involved in this sysemto throw the 0133 code (front 02 sensor slow response)??? there is no sas system on the car and the code for the sas system doesnt come on as i have done the computer soldering diode job. this P0133 code is the only code i keep getting?....any help/ideas?

Vacuum leaks!!! Probably the cause of the O2 sensor problems like that code 90-95% of the time.
Have any of the vacuum lines or PCV components ever been changed in your car? I'd look at the vacuum hose for that system first; then start investigating anything else you can find connected (or disconnected!)
