Name this Part/Hose

Post by Juan62 »

For 98 S70 T-5 Manual;

P0442 (EVAP Small) is driving me crazy.
Tried replacing the hoses (from Autozone) to band-aid them before i bought a new Purge Valve...no avail and still got P0442 code. Next, purchased a new Purge Valve (Volvo)-Peirberg # 8627005...no codes yet, but hoses looks worn and ready to replace all of them.
Please review the pics and help me identify the name and part numbers, including the hoses (with white tape markings). I have read the number off the white (round) plastic connection= Volvo (# 97 T259). Tried looking them up, can't find them.

I need part names and numbers to: the round plastic (two), all hoses (sizes), T-shape (plastic). Note: from the T-shape, the hose at top of picture with white tape goes to the bottom side of the Turbo Air intake tube, next to the PTC Nipple.
Thanks.

I can't help with the hose part numbers. They look to be in pretty good shape but can't hurt to replace them.

When you see P0442, usually the place to start is the J tubes on top of the evap canister. That's what was causing it on my car. But this one can be very annoying to track down, GL.

Here is a pretty thorough discussion:

Erikv11;
Thanks.

Never thought about removing the charcoal canister and inspecting the connectors and seals. I did replace sending unit gasket, fuel cap 3x, J-hose and other hose connected to canister, Purge Valve (near radiator shroud), but not the hoses up front. That's where I'm working on...the from, then I'll return top the canister and check and or replace the connectors.

I know if you get the 'big' silicone hose kit from Stylin' Motors, you'll get plenty of hose to replace everything under the hood, including the ones you're looking at.

Sorry, but no. When I got the kit it had a few coils of various hoses that were marked with the diameter but since I didn't know what size I was replacing, I just jammed one end on each fitting to see if it fit.

The website said it would come with an installation guide but they must have forgotten to include it in my shipment. I just went ahead and started fitting things instead of waiting for it to show up.

Is this the correct replacement part shown in my pictures?
Volvo # 918674. If so, looks like I need three.
Thanks.

The number of the part still on the car states Volvo 97 T259, this one maybe a new design and number.

I'm pretty sure the pic is a filter, but you're looking for a one-way valve.

Part number is 9445436 it sells for $73.89.

That part number will include all pieces in your pictures including that t-fitting. It is not sold in pieces.
