Parting 3 Cars out!
1992 Volvo 240 Wagon, Black, Tan Leather rear bench, 2 Tan Cloth front seats. Left Front damage, Fender, Inner Fender, Headlight, Bumper Hood. All else pretty good condition. Cat-Back Exhaust Brand new from FCP Groton, Installed in July 2011. brand new blower motor, also from FCP Groton, Installed in July 2011. Alternator was recently overhauled, new brushes, new everything in August 2011.
1992 Volvo 940 Sedan, Gold, Tan Leather Interior. No accident damage, some scratches and such. Car sat for a year or two, engine problems, mechanic swapped motor from a 240, ran for a year or so and then stopped running, didn’t really try to fix it, just forgot about it and we bought my mom this next car.
1994 Volvo 940 Wagon Dark Teal, Black/Grey Cloth Interior. No accident damage, scratches and such. Car ran until my mother stopped driving. A few months went by, tried to start it, couldn’t. Towed to home mechanic, he couldn’t figure out and we forgot about that car as well.
Also for sale is a whole 740 Turbo engine, without the turbo. ran when pulled, was going to put in another 740 Turbo, but the car was totaled, and never needed it. Also some other tail lights and other stuff from 240 and 740, and 940’s. Email [email protected] for more info.
The 940’s were my mothers’, First the Gold 940 Sedan, when it stopped running we came upon the 940 Wagon, thinking we would fix the Gold Sedan in our free time… HA! Free time… Then due to health issues she stopped driving all together, and no one had any need to drive her cars. When we did need to move it, it wouldn’t start, finally it got towed to a Volvo Mechanics’ house, we weren’t pressing him for it, and he had exhausted options… and everyone forgot about it…
My father had the 240 wagon, which ran like a champ until August 30th 2011, when some woman in an Acura pulled out in front of him, he swerved to miss hitting her drivers door, and hit her rear fender. NYS has a “No-Fault” policy which means that all persons accept blame. The last person who was able to avoid the accident accepts responsibility. Her insurance company said my father was 10% at fault because he swerved, making him the last person to be able to do anything. If he hadn’t, blame would fall totally on her. When my father said, if I didn’t swerve, she would be dead, the insurance employee stated “then you would not be at fault for the accident, she was the last person to be able to avoid the accident by pulling out.”
I can just junk the cars and get the money for scrap, but I think there are some parts that people might want or need. I have been in that boat where I needed something obscure, and couldn't find it outside of the stealership...

I am mostly on the road, and unable to log in to here as much as I would like, but unsure if I am allowed to list an email, even though it would be the quickest response and reply time. These cars have to go, there is no way around that, I just pleaded with my parents to get some parts to some people who might need them...

We are looking to get rid of the cars by the 15th of November 2011. They will not be here after then, and this post will be removed.
