Interesting. My dealer charged me less than $80 for a rebuilt caliper. And you only need to replace one, they do not come in pairs, unless you upgrade to something larger. Did you call parts or service? Service people include labor plus 1 hour.

If you can loosen the brake line at the caliper, DIY.

Edit: BTW, when my right caliper failed I alwasy blamed my right brake. It was the one making all of the noise, and I don't blame it for overheating the rotor and making it hard to stop. Forget panic braking!

I spoke to parts... we get gouged on everything here in Canada. Auto parts are no exception. I have a mailing address in the US and usually ship my parts there and drive across to pick them up. Just makes it difficult to get the core charge back.

I have ordered a set of Zimmerman rotors for the back brakes, and a new set of Akebono ceramic pads for both front and rear from IPD. I will shop around for front calipers locally. Thanks you all for your advice!
