Hi,
I'm looking at buying a used 2004 XC90. This is the 2.5 engine, not the T6. Is there anything inherently problematic on these cars that I should look at before buying? The car is a 1-owner, 70k miles and has been serviced at the Volvo dealership. Also, will there be any big maintenance expenses for this car? My 99 S70 had a big one around 105k miles, I believe it was the timing belt servicing?
Thanks.

Maintenance should be similar to your S70. The Timing Belt will also be due at 105k, but its something you can do on your own to save a bunch of $$$.
One of the common things on these cars is misc. suspension items wearing out. My XC90 has 70k on it and i'm about to replace the front spring seats and strut mounts, and i've already had to do the sway bar end links. Listen for any suspension noises, and if you hear anything, try to get the dealer to fix it before buying it.
