I just realized that the sensor i installed in March was a Bosch Direct Fit from FCP Groton. I was going threw my paper work(receipts) to find that the NGK O2 was for my Nissan Maxima and I got the Bosch O2 from FCP groton. I emailed them ealier today to see if they can do anything about the defective O2.shiloh51933 wrote:Bosch is the only way to go unless I want more issues. I guess I'm ordering a bosch O2 sensor. So you had a problem with your Bosch O2 sensor just like I have. Atleast FCP groton emailed me back with some good news, they said they'll replace or refund me for faulty Bosch sensor. I'm going to need a replacement but I don't have time to remove, mail and wait for new replacement. I'll just order another to swap with bad O2 and send it back for a refund I guess.tjts1 wrote:Bosch quality strikes again. Lets hope the one I just received is better.

No, I just ordered a new sensor because I don't think mine has ever been replaced and the car has over 220k miles. I can see the sensor is switching very slowly compared to what a new sensor should. I haven't had a chance to install it yet. I don't know who made the stock sensor that is in there now. The replacement I bought is a Bosch meant for a 2005 neon.shiloh51933 wrote:So you had a problem with your Bosch O2 sensor just like I have.tjts1 wrote:Bosch quality strikes again. Yeah I'm ordering another today from FCP Groton. I'll send back the 8 month old Bosch O2 for refund after I swap out the old 1 for the new 1. That's why i like ordering my Volvo parts from FCP...they take care of there customers.tjts1 wrote:No, I just ordered a new sensor because I don't think mine has ever been replaced and the car has over 220k miles. I dropped in the Bosch 13877 O2 sensor today in the front position. It took about 30 minutes start to finish. I'm glad volvo was smart enough to make the O2 sensor easily accessible.
The stock 850 O2 sensor plug on the left, 13877/Neon plug on the right.

Stock Volvo sensor with 220k miles left, new 13877 right

Cut, strip and crimp Volvo plug onto the 13877 sensor.

And I took it for a quick spin with OBD2 running on Android. The average looks a bit lean but I think this will cure itself with time as LTFT adjust itself from the current -9.4%. The old O2 was almost never switching.

Not bad for $15.44
Lets hope bosch quality holds up. This sensor was made in Japan.
