Hi there, just to tell you that my e-brake was not working properly or i should say not at all, i was reading in volvo forum in uk some great info, people were swaping their H shape adaptor for a conventional screw system. And that's what i did. After changing my handbrake shoes bc they were faling apart, my problem was still the same NO HANDBRAKE. After went to a scap yard and took adjusting link on a 850 put this on my car and i noticed a huge difference.
You can buy those parts at the dealer. For both wheels you need 2 adjusting links p/n 30793438
2 claws p/n 30793437

Now the shoe assembly (adjusted properly rubbing on the disc/drum) really stop the car.

I guest you have adjusted the star wheel through the lug bolt holes.

Does the hand brake apply more firmly now? I am thinking more like the 850/S70 and without the "play" that the P2 cars have.

I did this a couple a years ago and it works great. Yes, adjustment thru the lug hole.

Yes when you apply the handbrake it's firm. 80% improvement in my case. I don't understand why Volvo designed it that way (without starwheel system).
