Hi All, just registered and have a question:
Yesterday I was screwing around with the mirror on the driver's side sunvisor (it was broken and I was trying to get it out, which i was able to). After that, the trunk open light on the dash has been on and there is a constant chime which I'm guessing is the open door chime... How can I check all of the door locks to see if any sensors or switches or whatever are stuck? For the trunk too? Any help would be awesome, even if there's a way to turn off the chime too?
Thanks so much.

Update to the above post:
I fiddled with the interior lights switch - the one on the ceiling forward of the sunroof, between the little lights, and switching it back and forth finally turned off the chime and the trunk dash light for whatever reason. However, it's temporary - next time I turn on the car I've got to switch it back and forth again. Interior lights are also not working, and the parking lights don't flash anymore when i lock the car with the remote.
So something electrical is messed up, that much I know! Could it be as simple as a fuse? What are the steps to troubleshoot this?
Thanks for any replies.

Try locking and unlocking your car from the inside a couple of times. Seems like the locking/security unit on your car is having spasms.

Funny I just had the same problem with my 98 S70 - I had replaced the driver visor since it wasn't setting right. Anyway it turns out I nicked the wiring when I put the visor back on and that shorted out the system so the trunk light was on and the chime. Drove me crazy driving it back and forth to work one day. Check the fuse, they are all on the same fuse - mine was blown but I fixed the nicked wire and changed the fuse and all was good. (However I did disconnect the battery and thought I had the radio code but it didn't work so now I am radioless..)
Surprised your courtesy lights still work with the chiming going. You probably have a short somewhere in your system with the courtesy lights and visor mirror etc. Check the fuse first - think mine was #15. Good luck.
