ETS light is on with new Xemodex ETM!

Post by ajr2820 »

Replaced the (what I assume) original white sticker ETM with a Xemodex 3 weeks ago. All is well performance wise, but last night the ETS light came on. There are no apparent performance issues so I am stumped. Any help? As a side note, after ETM was replaced, I also replaced the MAF sensor, not because I got a CEL, but because at first it ran like crap until I disconnected the MAF. Then it ran awesome, so I replaced it 2 days later and it continued to run great. I am simply concerned over the ETS light. Also, my scanner cannot turn the light off. Any help with this matter would be appreciated as well.

Really? No one? Well to add to this, I sent Xemodex an e-mail and they say that since there are no ETM symptoms, the ETS light could be triggered by a bad brake pedal position sensor. Does this sound right to anyone else? Why would this happen? Any insight?

No codes at all nor any pending. The car seems to still run fine, but I want to A.) Determine what the problem is and fix it. or B.) If there is no problem, turn the ETS light off.

it's very possible and that can throw that ETS code
I suggest you have Volvo scan it, their scanners will tell you, or just buy the brake pedal sensor which (IIRC) about 80 bucks or so and installs in about a minute

You may want to try to reset your computer by disconnecting the negative post of your battery. That is what did it for me.
