Tailgate won't stay up!

This is dangerous...can anyone help me. Can you give me instructions on how to take off the tailgate or what I need to do to make the tailgate stay up and not come slamming down. I would really appreciate some help before someone gets hurt. Thanks so much.

So when I go to the dealer I ask for two tailgate struts?

Yes, you need two of them but you will pay pay pay at the dealer. If you can wait a few days then order them online. Buy the ones the dealer sells (made by Stabilus) for a lot cheaper:
