Air tools, 19v cordless or 120v corded for turning nuts

HF seems to sell more oiled units, and Sears seems to sell more oil-less units. Mine is oil...personally I think the oil-less units are too loud. For as much as I run mine, I'd rather have something that's lubed anyway.

My intake silencer turned out okay....it did quiet it down somewhat, I'll have to snap a picture of it. That's the beauty of PVC...it's cheap. I may just put the compressor in the attic and pipe it down to the garage, or frame it in some sort of ventilated enclosure.

Compressors are a lot like lawn mowers, You can have one mower under 9 different brands. I haven't been a fan of Sears or the Craftsman line for awhile, it seems like they've been cutting corners just like everybody else and just riding on the name. Most of us grew up during the time when our parents bought everything at Sears because it was good stuff, and some of it still is....but a lot of what they sell anymore is just rebranded.

I wish I had a garage so that I could get and store the compressor and air tools. They do make your life a million times easier. I ended up going the electric route, but I did corded electric. The cordless is just crap unless you pay big bucks, which I do not feel is worth it. My 120V corded impact gun is the ish and has saved my butt many times.

I have air and electric. For those real hard to remove bolts, like axle nuts, nothing beats a good air gun. But for basic repairs I find the 120 volt dewalt does the job just fine. They are only rated for around 250 ft pounds. With that you do sometimes have to break out the old breaker bar and pipe. The only other down fall to the 120 volt is they are pretty big and bulky in comparison to the cordless or pneumatic. Mine is 10 years old and used on a regular basis and still works great.

That is true. My electric impact gun is pretty big and heavy but works great for what I use it for. If I had a place to store the compressor, I would be all over a good set of air tools.
