Thanks.
Correct, but it's not a problem. :D

To change the rear lights on my 2004 XC90 to the 2008 ones, I did as described here.
Fortunally, Had I saved the old ones, so I can make this little how-to-do

Remove the small triangle floor piece.

Pull the black tap, and remove the interiorpiece the covers the rear taillights.

Unscrew the two nuts, that holds the lamp.

Here is the new and the old one, side by side.

And from the back. And as noticed there is 5 bulbs on the new one, and 4 on the old.
But is only because the rear light uses 2 bulbs, instead of one. You can see the wiring with grey and white wires to these two.
So nothing to worry about.

The Wires that goes back the cars wiring is exactly the same.
The right one is from the old light and the left is the new.

And the two wirehousings that connects the cars wiring. Still the same. :D

This worked perfectly on my car. But I can't guarantee for others cars.

you really did a good job. I'm wondering how you did install the LED light on the tail lights upper and lower?

It’s not plug and play you ll need to get the tail light harness too plus the fog light harness. cause the 07 has 2 small lights for the parking light instead of the 1 for 03-06. the deference is on the fog light harness the plugs are not the same and the cable are red and black before both of them are black. But i still curious about how the led was done.

The wiring is delivered with the new lights, so it's not a problem.

Hello, it is necessary to replace both upper housings?, or can I install the new style lower housing with the old style upper ones?

Thanks.

Yes, you Can easally replace the lower part of the lamps, without changing the upper part.
