Ok you guys - I need some help here! I have an 2001 S 40 Sedan with about 109K miles. I had a check engine light on forever and then my inspection came due. The service folks replaced a fuel ignition coil and reset the check engine light. Now my car won't pass inspection. They told me to drive it for between 30 and 100 miles and the emissions, exhaust monitors would reset. Well, it has been over 400 miles and the monitors aren't resetting. What can I do to get these things to reset? My inspection has run out and I have gotten ticketed. I feel helpless here just waiting for these things to reset? Is this how it is supposed to work.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Try looking here. The car needs to get to operating temperature for an extended time for it to check all of the monitors. I would say take it out for a drive on the highway. Be sure to get the car warm and get 60-70 mph, 40-50 mph and 25-35 mph. You can get the car checked for free at autozone to see if the car is ready.
Also, is your car getting warm? Meaning the car is getting to the middle of the temperature gauge or higher? Keep us posted so we can help out.
