What's keeping you from doing more DIY Volvo work?
*It's against societal norms - meaning you're a woman in a culture where women should not work on cars, or you're the president of a bank and don't want be seen wrenching on an old car, etc.

Money when it come to upgrades, and money when it comes to replacing worn parts like front wheel bearings. So I guess my answer is money, or lack there of.
Oh, and the wifey thinks I work on my car to get away from her. Not entirely true. Haha.

Other: Its money, but not tools. My stepdad has an armada of car tools and all sorts of things as hes and electrician. Its parts. I'd love to get new exhaust and an ecu. And to get my car dyno'd. But....as much as i want those....i want that Volvo prancing moose sticker. But as a high school student its hard to get a job or find time to work, whether it be on car or job.

Hi Folks,
Money and time are always my hurdles to get over when maintaining my 93 Volvo and 01 Ford. The 8 and 5 year old sons who never seem to stop fighting are always a challenge as well.
But I do love fixing them and keeping them on the road and safe. I also like a little grease stuck in the nails and pores so I can tell a good fixit story at the park or a meeting.
Later,
Dave

Time here as well.
I'm amazed at others' amazement that I change my oil/trans fluid/ac recharges in my garage. It's as if it required use of CERN's atom smasher or something.russellengineering wrote:But I do love fixing them and keeping them on the road and safe. Nah, that's just trying to change the freaking solenoids on the transmission. Ugh.It's as if it required use of CERN's atom smasher or something.
