San Diego Area Volvo Junkyard & Machine Shopa

Post by jaluhn »

Does anyone know of a good Volvo specialist junkyard to go to in the San Diego or even socal area? I've dealt quiet a bit with Volvo Sabb Auto Dismantlers out of Rancho Cordova when i was living in the Sacramento area, but I'd like to find someone closer. Shipping an engine 500+ miles is rather difficult.....

On the same note, any recommendations for socal machine shops that are reputed on Volvo motors? My main concern is someone that can rebuilt whiteblock heads.

Thanks,
~John

John,

Sorry to be no help to you but I am on the east coast. But, when I was looking for a good junkyard in my area, I hit up the good old google. If you have not tried googling junkyards in your area, I would give that a shot.

Also, Erie Volvo in PA is a great place to order used parts from too if you did not want to go with new.

Andrew,

Thanks. I'll check them out. I've also bought a number of parts from you guys, so thanks for all the help. I'm sure I'll be getting more in the future.

I agree with searching google, but google doesn't tell you much about reputation, prices, customer service, etc. I'd rather support someone who's good rather than just picking a random yard.

Thanks,
~John

John,

That is true, but if you can find a couple of junkyards in your area, you may be some more help. I wish I could be more help but being I am on the east coast, I do not know anything about the west coast.

Also, thank you for thinking of use when you need parts. We really do appreciate it.
