Erratic Boost Issue

On a recent 1,000 mile trip, my XC90 2.5t with 78,000 miles began driving poorly and seemed low on power when under heavy acceleration. At first I thought it may be a transmission issue, but I believe it is a turbo/boost issue.

My Symptoms:
Poor acceleration under heavy throttle/load
"surging" feeling when under boost
I seem to hear the turbo more when under boost.

I have not inspected anything yet but my first thought is that it is either one of the rubber couplers on the turbo outlet has failed, or the tcv has failed. Both of these seem to be common failures, and fortunately, both seem to be cheap.

Anyone have a similar experience? Or Any input?

Your probably looking at a turbo boost Control valve.
Sounds like the same issue I had, & that's what fixed it. $300 at the dealer.

I would check the turbo hoses first to see if it busted.
