CD/Radio Replacement on a 2005 S40

Hi My 6 disc CD player in my S40 stop working when I had to jump start my car due to a drain in the battery. When I restarted the car the CD player read deck error. My radio is working My cds are stuck inside. This has been going on for about six months with no CD player. I just found out the casue of the drain. I thought it had to do with CD Player. My mechanic told me it was the wiring harness. Once that is replace will my CD player work again
