Can someone tell me where the AFM is located?
The AFM is where the rear grid antenna in the glass hooks to the antenna wire. I would like to install an FM modulator. I have already found the Audio unit is the trunk behind the panel in the drivers side rear quarter panel.
ANy help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Glenn

do you have the low profile rib roof antenna or the slanted vertical fin (looks like vertical stabilizer on air plane) antenna?
The low profile rib models are late enough that the AFM was dropped and the function was moved into the CD player (media player module) which was then named the Integrated audio module. Vertical rib would mean earlier production and you would have an AFM on the parcel shelf below the carpeted panel

Thanks Jimmy57,
So I need to interface the FM modulator to the back of the CD in the dash to hook up the I-pod?
Thanks we just picked up the S40 last week after driving older 70 series cars.

Thanks Jimmy57,
I have attached a photo of the cables I have. I hope to do a full write up with pics, for future reference.
Does the head unit have to be pulled? Do the newer cars have a radio code like the older 70 series cars. I finally mastered the older 98-99 70 series cars. Now were onto the 05 S50 and a 04 V70r. Im sure ill have to wire the ipod to the 70R after the S40 is done.
