99 V70 Headlights

The headlights on my V70 fluctuate in intensity when the car is started in the AM. After about 15 seconds they settle down to normal brightness. Anyone know of a cause for this occurance.

Also I hear a chattering noise for a few minutes until the engine warms up and then it fades away.

What year is the battery? Your battery has been drawn down by starting your car and the alternator will try bring the voltage to about 14 when the regulator will kick out and in .

Battery is 2 years 4 months and maintained regularly.

This is perfectly normal. I see a very faint but constant fluctuation in the interior lights all the time. It's most noticeable at night of course. I asked the dealer about it and apparently this is normal behaviour. I was in another S70 and the same behaviour was present. So I can only assume it is normal even if it's kind of annoying...
