Oil Consumption XC-70

Post by stickman »

I have a Volvo XC-70 with 5,300 miles on OD. I had to add 1 quart of oil today. Is this normal? The scheduled oil change is at 7,500.

oil consumption of 1 quart in 3000 miles is great. Usually no warrantable attempt is made unless it is 1 quart per 1800 miles or worse. On a new vehicle to use some oil and then have that usage cease by 10K miles is pretty normal.
No worries unless this continues or worsens.
Oil consumption on modern cars is minimal but it still happens some. Some driving styles and temperatures make the consumption a little worse but again 1 qt in 5300 miles is not a problem.

Jimmy 57 thanks for the feedback. I'll continue to watch its consumption.
